No Pain But Much to Gain with Decompression from Centennial and Aurora Chiropractor

freedom_from_pain_med.jpgPain is one of the foremost reasons people come to JT Anderson Chiropractic, and one of our foremost treatments is non-surgical spinal decompression. Not only is spinal decompression effective in treating a wide range of ailments, but the treatment itself is also pain-free. Our Centennial and Aurora chiropractor, Dr. JT Anderson, is a Certified Spinal Decompression Specialist who has been effectively employing spinal decompression since we opened our clinic in 1995. The treatment has been successful in treating neck and back pain, sciatica, headache, carpal tunnel syndrome, asthma, congestion, menstrual pain and a variety of other ailments caused by pinched nerves along the spine.

Gentle, Painless Procedure Alleviates Pressure on the Nerves So They Can Function Properly

Spinal decompression is the end result of the procedure, referring to the decompression your spine experiences after it has been elongated. Dr. Anderson uses advanced equipment to achieve the elongation in a process known as traction. Dr. Anderson adjusts the specialized table to suit the area that requires the decompression--either the cervical or lumbar vertebrae. The patient lies on the table as Dr. Anderson connects the equipment’s computer unit to track the amount of traction used to gently and slowly decompress the spine. As the table components move and the spine elongates, the pressure on the nerves are relieved and they can once again function properly. A typical session lasts around 20 minutes with the number of sessions required dependant on the severity of the issue being treated.
One of the most common causes of a compressed spine is years of poor posture. Constantly stooping, slouching or similar stances can eventually cause the vertebrae to compress and pinch the nerves that run along the spine. Pinched nerves can lead to numbness, weakness and pain in whatever bodily area they are meant to serve as they can no longer function. Non-surgical spinal decompression at our chiropractic clinic sets our patients free, allowing them to function in the manner they need for optimum health.

Prevention is the Best Cure for Back Pain and Neck Pain

Posted on 2011-05-16 13:21:57

Centennial Chiropractor, Dr. JT Anderson wants back pain and neck pain sufferers in the Aurora area to find freedom from pain; and since prevention transcends repair, this edition of our blog, covers five tips for avoiding back problems altogether:Aurora Chiropractic Office treats back pain

1. Posture — Slouching may seem relaxing initially, but it actually strains and damages the spine, causing problems throughout the body. Sit with the back straight against the chair (lumbar support is a good idea), with the feet evenly spaced and flat on the floor. A chiropractic session can help patients identify and correct posture problems.

2. Exercise — 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily generates optimum health by strengthening muscles, improving flexibility, increasing circulation and aiding weight loss. Overweight patients suffer more back troubles because extra weight can strain muscles and pull the spine out of alignment.

3. Sleep — Everybody needs sufficient deep sleep for optimum health and healing, but sleeping on an overly hard mattress, or with a pillow that misaligns the neck, can ruin a good night’s sleep and cause more aches and pains. Check that mattresses, pillows and the sleeping position itself create a neutral spinal alignment for optimum comfort, rest and healing.

Centennial Chiropractor recomends sleep to avoid back pain4. Nutrition — Along with exercise, good nutrition is crucial for keeping bones, muscles and all bodily systems working properly, not to mention that eating right helps patients achieve or maintain the proper weight, which, in turn, reduces stress on the spine.

5. Lifting — When lifting heavy boxes, wiggling toddlers or any other large something, remember to lift with the legs, not the back. Always keep the back straight and neutral to avoid injury. People who carry heavy backpacks, briefcases or purses should also try to lighten their loads or find ways to distribute the load more evenly to reduce stress on the back.

And now we’d like to hear from our neighbors and patients: What are some other great ways to prevent back pain?

centennial_chiropractor_aurora.jpgAt JT Anderson Chiropractic center in Centennial, we have been helping patients from the Centennial, Aurora, and the surrounding areas since 1995. At our chiropractic clinic, we truly believe in redefining wellness. Our chiropractor, JT Anderson, and the rest of our chiropractic health staff will help you reach your health goals, whatever they may be. In addition to helping patients with back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, and headaches, we have a great deal of experience treating sports injuries, and we are the team chiropractor to The Denver Outlaws Lacrosse organization and former team chiropractor to The Denver Broncos and the Colorado Crush football teams. A great therapy we have had great results with at the office is all-natural, non-invasive spinal decompression and disc decompression therapies. While the name is fancy, the idea behind spinal decompression is simple, and involves gently relieving pressure on the spine using a specialized decompression table. Many patients actually find spinal decompression performed by a chiropractor comfortable or relaxing, and for patients with neck pain, back pain, and headaches, the results of disc decompression therapy speak for themselves.

Now that we’ve talked about what our chiropractor and staff have been doing to help patients maximize their lives and goals for over 15 years at our clinic, it’s time to talk about what we’ve been doing in the recent past to help improve our online chiropractic presence. In 2010, we completely revamped our online presence with this informational website about JT Anderson Chiropractic. Today, in 2011, we are excited to bring the residents of Centennial and Aurora this new chiropractic blog to help share information about the latest wellness news, chiropractic topics, and other health articles to help keep you educated on how to best take care of yourself so you can live the true wellness lifestyle.

As we create new posts for our blogs, we hope to promote awareness about chiropractic care and encourage patients to live healthfully!
