What I do...

To truly impact change in someone's health, I believe that you must address overall health, not just reduce pain.  Reducing your pain will certainly be my primary focus, but equally important will be to identify the root cause of your pain and address it head on.  Most symptoms will return if the alignment of your spine is not corrected. The body has a certain ability to "remember" pain patterns and if don't change the reason why you had problems to begin with we will only be providing "band-aid" care. It is our goal to inform you of the care choices before you and make you aware of all that Chiropractic has to offer you for a lifetime of health and vitality.

In efforts to achieve the best results for our patients, we use a variety of Chiropractic techniques including Flexion-Distraction, Thompson Drop, Diversified, and light force adjusting instruments called the Arthostim.  I am also a Certified Spinal Decompression Specialist.  To further enhance these results and attain longer lasting results, I also utilize a variety of soft tissue therapies including dry needling, cupping,  myofascial/trigger point reduction, and muscle testing.  I am also certified in the Graston technique www.grastontechnique.com and have implemented the Back Project system www.backproject.com to enhance patient outcomes.

I met my wife, Bethany, while working at The Conditioning Spa in Greeley doing our undergraduate work. She is my best friend.  She is also a Certified Sports Nutritionist and works with many of our patients developing strategies for improved nutrition and weight management.

How I got started in the health field:

At 13 years old I found that I needed to "bulk up" and started training with weights to keep up with the other kids. I started working out at my house before school and would ride my bike 4 miles to and from a Nautilus health facility 5 days a week. My body began to respond and at the age of 15, I decided to enter the junior Olympics to compete in the dead lift, bench press and squat competitions. Unfortunately, my joints began to break down from the rigorous training routines and I began to have severe lower back pain. I consulted a sports Chiropractor in El Toro, California and began treatment that included adjusting the spine and improving my core strength. I spent a year of regimented Chiropractic care and feel that the Doctor's care saved my spine.  I began receiving adjustments at 15 and will not stop for the rest of my life.

I needed to shift gears to become more flexible and pursue a healthy way of training my body   Bodybuilding was a good fit and although I wasn't the most muscular person on the stage, I did have good symmetry, joint and muscular flexibility. I began to compete in various bodybuilding contests at age 16 and had very good success, while improving my muscle tone and nutritional habits

At the University of Northern Colorado, I began to study human anatomy and chemistry and became a certified personal trainer. I began working at The Conditioning Spa in Greeley and started training friends, but as my clientele began to grow, I had to find new exercise concepts to enhance their performance. I started to work with massage therapists and Chiropractors, focusing on injuries and postural changes.

I completed my Chiropractic Doctorate at Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas where I learned the true value of Chiropractic Health Care- not just as a means of pain reduction, but also as a vehicle to impact overall health.  I began to view the body as a "whole unit" with the nervous system being the master system and the spinal bones protecting the exiting nerves.  Enough pressure on the nerves can create a host of issues including pain, muscle weakness and organ dysfunction.  Removing the interference will allow the body to naturally heal on its own the way GOD intended.
