Ionic Detox Footbath

What is the Ionic Footbath?

We offer Ionic Foot Baths at our office to provide relaxation, healing of the body and promote the reduction of inflammation. This service leads to a detoxification of heavy metals, chemicals, and harmful acids that build up in the body. The foot bath is a 30-minute long relaxing session we offer as a great therapy in addition to your other wellness care.

What does an ionic foot bath do?

The Ionic Foot bath is a foot soak that uses water with electrolytes to stimulate the body to rid itself of more toxins than it already does naturally.  The heated water opens up the pores in the feet and the added salt helps draw toxins from your body out through the pores in feet. This happens due to the exchange between the positive and negative ions in your body and their opposite charge in the water. This therapy prompts your body to regulate a healthy pH, rebalance the mircobiome composition on the skin of your feet, and increase the concentration of blood flow in your feet. The treatment is designed to draw your cell's attention to the imbalances and activate the immune system that already naturally detoxifying your body daily.

What should I expect?

You can expect to notice natural relaxation in your feet and ankles right away from the small electric stimulation going through the water. The foot bath stimulates your immune system, so feel free to schedule when you have been around others who are sick or need an immune boost. You will notice a change in the color of the water during the foot bath treatment. This is a combination of dead skin cells, sweat, skin oils, sugar molecules and small proteins from your body, and some chemicals sitting on the surface of the skin.  After the foot bath is complete your activated immune system will continue to detox through your skin, your lymphatic system, liver, and kidneys. Unfortunately, the body is so often overloaded with toxins that it begins to recognize that toxic state as "normal." The foot bath is a reminder for your whole system to continue detoxing from environmental and internal toxic build-up. As with any therapy in our office, this pairs best with drinking tons of water and getting a little extra sleep.

How often should you do an ionic foot bath?

To start with we recommend a footbath treatment every 72 hours. After about 5-10 sessions, reduce to once a week. Then for maintenance care, one foot bath a month.
