“I was referred to you by a close friend who promised me you would help resolve and put a therapy plan in place for my ongoing, 15-year lower back pain. After an initial series of visits, adjustments, and decompression therapy, you made a referral to two highly respected back surgeons. The reason for this was to get two completely separate professional opinions as to the next steps. The first surgeon made the suggestion of lower back injections only. However, with this solution, I would need to maintain regular, annual injections to monitor pain. To me, this did not seem like it solved the lower back pain issue but was just a band-aid or temporary fix. I visited the second back surgeon and it was suggested that I undergo a lumbar discectomy. This surgeon was amazing, kind, and patient. He clearly communicated the process and described to me the process and timeline for surgery. Without hesitation, I chose the lumbar discectomy option. I walked into the Castle Rock surgery center on a Wednesday afternoon, had the surgery, and walked out and went to work the very next day. The minor pain associated with the surgery was minimal as compared to a normal day prior to surgery. My back pain that had plagued me for 15 years was gone. Regarding recovery, I had 6 weeks with no bending, lifting, and twisting. I maintained physical activity where I could and even walked a 5K road race on Thanksgiving Day – 2 days after surgery. All in all, on the day of my 6th week I was fully cleared and celebrated by running 6 miles on the trails around our home. Thank you Dr. Anderson for your help, your referral, and for your continued maintenance care today. I am so grateful and pain-free!”
Thank you! Ben S.
